quick consumptions for Wednesday
Balatro
I got all the way to Ante 8 and had one hand left and got a final score of 97k out of 100k and that’s all I have to say about that.Charly Bliss concert
It was a lot of fun! I went to Parish for the first time and loved their balcony, even if I didn’t stay up there the entire time.Loop earplugs
I invested in a higher-grade ear plug for the above concert because I’m hard of hearing and want to protect my hearing and it was so worth it! I left without any ear fatigue and still felt like I could enjoy the actual sounds of the concert without them being drowned out or muffled.Mad Men
I’ve recently started to rewatch Mad Men. I never finished it when it originally came out. I don’t know if I love it, but I do really find it refreshing to watch a bit of early days prestige TV. I also totally get why Jon Hamm never wanted to do a serious role again lol.Vox Machina, Season 3
It’s good and short and that’s all we need sometimes.Heartstopper, Season 3
I’ll just repost my bluesky post here as commentary.Agatha All Along
Agatha is good in that the cast is enjoyable to watch and the plot so far is interesting enough. It’s bad in that in every episode you’re reminded that the function of this show isn’t to tell one concrete compelling story but instead provide a link from one Marvel property to the next.Longlegs
I liked Longlegs and thought it was doing some interesting stuff1, but then I read Wikipedia and saw this quote from Richard Lawson that changed my mind about it…
”Longlegs is stylish but vacuous, a prettily foreboding picture with nothing behind it. As Hannibal Lecter might say, it's a well-scrubbed, hustling rube with a little taste”
especially Nicolas Cage’s performance
